Established in 1921 we are a family owned & operated funeral directors based in Coppull Chorley.
We have a beautifully presented funeral home, Bentham House which has 7 private rooms of repose, one of which is a dedicated Roman Catholic suitable for a large rosary. Bentham House is open Monday to Friday 09:30 to 17:30 & Saturdays 10:00 to 12:00, and is managed by our Funeral Director Janice Hough, assisted by Jemma Hayes & Carrie Quinn.

The Direct Cremation £1350.00
The direct cremation is the cheapest, and simplest option. However please note that a direct cremation may not be for everyone.
• Immediate attention & assistance from our professional 24 hour on call team 365 days a year
• We will bring the deceased into our care from any location within the Chorley borough and care for them at our own mortuary and facilities with respect and dignity
• Our Funeral director will liaise with you directly to complete all the necessary funeral paper work.
• All necessary transportation will be arranged to the local crematorium.
• A cremation in a FFMA approved simple wooden coffin
• Ashes will be returned in a simple poly urn supplied by the local crematorium
When choosing the direct cremation option, please be mindful of the following:
• It is not possible to view the deceased in a chapel of rest
• There is no procession, hearse or limousines, and it is not possible for mourners to attend or be present at the time of the funeral
• The cremation will take place without a formal service, on a date and a time of our choosing
• Embalming, arranging of floral tributes and collection of charitable donations are not included. This list is illustrative and not exhaustive. *Doctors fees of £164.00 may apply.
The Simple Cremation £1795.00
The Simple cremation is the next type of cremation service we offer, and consists of the following services & exceptions
• Immediate attention & assistance from our professional 24 hour on call team 365 days a year
• We will bring the deceased into our care from any location within the Chorley borough and care for them at our own mortuary and facilities with respect and dignity
• Our Funeral director will liaise with you directly to complete all the necessary funeral paper work.
• Provision of a hearse to meet at the local Crematorium.
• Simple funeral service to be held prior to the cremation
• A cremation in a FFMA approved simple veneered wooden coffin
• Ashes will be returned in a simple poly urn supplied by the local crematorium
When choosing the direct cremation option, please be mindful of the following:

The Traditional Cremation £2645.00
The third option is the traditional funeral service, which consist of the following services & exceptions:
• Immediate attention & assistance from our professional 24 hour on call team 365 days a year
• Use of our private rooms of repose, with viewing during normal business hours
• Our Funeral director will liaise with you directly to complete all the necessary funeral paper work.
• Provision of a hearse to arrive at a predetermined address and allow following cortège.
• A full funeral service to be held prior to the cremation.
• A cremation in a FFMA approved veneered oak wooden coffin.
• Ashes will be returned in a simple poly urn supplied by the local crematorium
When choosing the traditional cremation option, please be mindful of the following:
• The cremation will take place with a formal service, on a date and a time of our choosing
• Additional features such as limousines etc.. can be added to this service. We are happy to discuss your requirements with you at the time of need. *Doctors fees of £164.00 may apply.

- The funeral director will submit the quotation of funeral costs onto a secure sever, and generate you a unique application reference and web link.
- Once at home you can access the web link and submit your personal details into the online application for consideration by the finance company
- Once the application is approved, you will receive a notification and an online “click to sign” credit agreement for your consideration.
- Once the agreement has been signed that is it, we will take care of the rest.
